V-TEK, Inc. Unveils the HSS High Speed Sorter, the Latest Innovation in Die Sorting Technology
Mankato, MN —October 6, 2025— V-TEK, Inc., a leader in component packaging and handling solutions, today announced the launch of the HSS High Speed Sorter (HSS), its newest die sorting system developed in collaboration with Royce Instruments. The HSS is being showcased this week at Semicon West in Phoenix, offering semiconductor manufacturers a production-ready solution that delivers unmatched speed, precision, and flexibility.
Engineered for today’s demanding semiconductor applications, the HSS is capable of precision picking and placement of devices from dicing tape to a wide variety of output mediums. At the heart of the system is a rotary handler that enables parallel processing across multiple stations, achieving throughputs of up to 5,000 units per hour — even with advanced options like die inversion, inspection, and electrical test integrated into the process.
Key Features of the HSS High Speed Sorter:
· Handles die sizes from 0.2mm² up to 20mm²
· Inputs supported include film frames, grip/hoop rings, waffle packs, Gel-Pak, JEDEC trays, and custom inputs up to 300mm
· Outputs include carrier tape (8mm–56mm), waffle packs, Gel-Pak, and JEDEC or custom trays
· Placement accuracy of ±7µm
· Changeovers in under one hour, supporting a wide range of part sizes
· Standard features include ionizing fans, auto wafer alignment, and top-surface defect inspection
· Optional add-ons include die inversion, electrical test station, and multi-sided inspection
“The HSS builds on the proven flexibility of the AP+ platform while pushing performance to new heights,” said Mitch Jacobs, CEO at V-TEK. “It’s designed for manufacturers who demand both speed and precision without compromise, and we’re proud to deliver an American-made system that supports wafers produced in the United States.”
The HSS High Speed Sorter is available immediately. Attendees at Semicon West can see live demonstrations of the system at the V-TEK booth [Booth Number].
